Hotel Art (by the Spanish Steps) Rome Review – Being near one of the biggest tourist attractions (the Spanish Steps) had me concerned that this hotel would be noisy and overcrowded – but this was certainly not the case! It is located in one of the nicest areas in Rome, in my opinion, and is situated in the most peaceful street, just away from all the hustle and bustle. A secret little street, it’s like stepping into another world full of unique shops that sold some great jewelry, art and other things you wouldn’t see in the ‘typical’ stores.

There is a train station right at the Spanish Steps that can take you quickly to the Colosseum and the Vatican. There are also a lot of things within close walking distance. The staff were also able to suggest some great local places to eat, restaurants and cafes.

The hotel itself is quirky and modern, true to it’s artistic name, with each floor allocated a colour. Find out more about Hotel Art here. There is indeed art everywhere even a snail installation out the front. The bed was comfortable with both firm and soft pillows, decent amount of storage space, and some nice large bath towels. The showerheads were nice and large with good pressure and plenty of hot water. An interesting perk, which I have never seen before but I thought was fantastic was a free to use mobile phone with data and local calls.

Unbeatable was the breakfast that included an unbelievable feast of meats, cheeses, fruits, breads, croissants and cakes, and of course wonderful coffee. On my last morning checking out I didn’t have time to eat breakfast so they gave me a little ‘breakfast box’ with some juice, fruit and muesli bar – a lovely touch to the end of my stay.

This hotel is an unbeatable combination of location, style and price. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!
