Welcome to Italy’s Ligurian coastline that includes the five UNESCO villages of the Cinque Terre. On arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy the day at leisure to explore the charming town of Camogli.

After the Cinque Terre National Park was declared a UNESCO world heritage site, the villages of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso have become a bucket list destination. Enjoy a full day excursion with a private guide to visit three of the five villages by train and boat and discover the town’s narrow alleyways, secret corners and wonderful views.

Day: 3 Camogli – Santa Margherita Ligure – Portofino – Camogli

Travel by local train to visit Santa Margherita Ligure, one of the most attractive and charming towns on the Ligurian coast. Stroll along the promenade before exploring the centre’s brightly coloured houses, quaint shops, 13th century Basilica di Santa Margherita d’Antiochia and Villa Durazzo and its royal apartments. Afterward, take the local bus to the glamourous Portofino, renowned for its picturesque harbour and boutique shops. Enjoy an independent lunch at one of the many marina facing café’s, visit the church of St George and experience photo worthy views from Castello Brown before transferring back to your hotel.

Day: 4 Camogli – Genoa – Camogli

Enjoy a short panoramic train ride to Liguria’s capital, one of the Mediterranean’s most important Ports. Enjoy a half day guided walking tour to discover Genoa’s food, history and culture and explore a unique mix of contrasts from Grand Palazzi to tiny secluded corners. Highlights include the UNESCO listed historical centre, historical Via Garibaldi, the Porto Antico (old Port), Cathedral of San Lorenzo, Christopher Colombus’ birthplace and Piazza Raffaele de Ferrari and Palazzo Ducale. Along the way, visit a food market housed in an art deco building and enjoy tastings from the region such as focaccia and a glass of Vermentino. The afternoon you will have leisure time to stroll Boccadasse, the fisherman village of Genoa.
